Safeguarding

Your safety, dignity and voice matter

Hope and Friends is committed to providing warm, respectful support where every person feels heard, safe and in control.

How we keep support safe

Listen and take concerns seriously

We welcome questions, worries and feedback from clients, families and anyone involved in their support. We will listen without judgement and respond with care.

Respect choice and independence

We support people to make their own decisions wherever possible. We will explain options clearly, respect personal boundaries and involve the right people with consent.

Act when something does not feel right

If we become aware of a concern about harm, neglect, exploitation or unsafe practice, we will take it seriously and follow the appropriate safeguarding process.

Work with families and professionals

With the person’s consent, we can work alongside family members, advocates and relevant professionals to help make support feel joined up and reassuring.

If you have a safeguarding concern

Please tell us as soon as you can if you are worried about your own safety, someone else’s wellbeing, or the way support is being provided.

  1. 1

    Speak to us

Contact Hope and Friends using our enquiry form or email. Share what has happened, who is involved and what support you feel is needed.

  2. 2

    In an emergency

If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent help, call 999.

  3. 3

    For non-urgent local support

You can also contact your local council’s adult safeguarding team for advice and support.

We will treat information sensitively. If there is a serious risk of harm, we may need to share relevant information with appropriate services to help keep someone safe.

Guidance for families and loved ones

Families often notice small changes first. Please let us know if you are concerned about a person’s wellbeing, confidence, routines, living situation or relationships. We will explain what we can do, what we need to keep private, and how we can work together respectfully.

Want to talk something through?

You do not need to be certain that something is wrong to ask for advice. Get in touch for a calm, confidential conversation.
